The sun is shining, warmer temperatures are here – and the signature sound of cars on the track at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway is around the corner.
There’s nothing quite like being in Indianapolis in the month of May. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t feel the contagious energy and excitement the month brings each year as the city prepares for the largest single-day sporting event in the world – especially in 2016, as the time-honored race celebrates its legendary 100th running on Sunday, May 29.
Here at Bohlsen Group, the excitement catches on early. Each year, we look forward to assisting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with publicity efforts surrounding the many events that make the month of May what it is – as early as February when the city launched the “100 Days Out” countdown to the Indianapolis 500. We helped spread the word about the late night countdown event, and enjoyed accompanying IndyCar drivers to advance interviews as they dropped off keepsake autographed glass milk bottles.
Fast forward to the start of spring, and we’re assisting the IMS in the execution of promotions, helping spread the word about off-track initiatives such as the Carb Day and Legends Day concerts and festivities, as well as media relations support for behind the scenes elements of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, and the return of the exciting Angie’s List Grand Prix race on Saturday, May 14. Something for everyone.
As the city transforms and the community comes together to bring the anticipation into reality, we’re always excited to be right in the middle – and honored to be able to play a role in this rich celebration of speed, tradition, progress and the quest for glory.
