INTERNSHIPS

We are taking applications for Fall 2017 Design, Corporate/Nonprofit, and Events/Entertainment interns as well as our Street Team.

Design

Fall 2017 Submission Deadline: June 16, 2017

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current enrollment in/recent graduation from a college or university, grasp of basic creative design concepts with a strong working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Must be passionate, driven and excited to learn all aspects of the industry.

Ideal candidates have experience with meme and animated GIF creation. Web design, video editing and social media experience are a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional development – 70%

  • Assist staff in concepting and designing various materials such as brochures, playbills, strategic plans, etc.
  • Contribute to the Bohlsen Group blog
  • Observe/participate in client meetings, brainstorming sessions and conference calls as needed
  • Concept and design various elements of client advertising campaigns
  • Participate in the creation of unified marketing campaigns for clients by participating in team meetings, coordinating logistics and/or creating necessary design pieces, such as street level promotional items
  • Complete Internship Capstone Project
  • Follow direction and meet fluid deadlines while working in a team setting

Administrative duties – 30%

  • Assist office coordinator in greeting guests, answering phones in a courteous and professional manner and carrying out general office operations as needed
  • Coordinate daily mailings

Interns report to the Corporate and Nonprofit internship coordinator.

Corporate & Nonprofit PR/Marketing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional development – 70%

  • Assist staff in writing materials such as press releases, strategy documents, pitching plans, pitches, etc.
  • Contribute to the Bohlsen Group blog
  • Observe/participate in client meetings, brainstorming sessions and conference calls as needed
  • Research and compile media distribution lists
  • Develop and foster blogger relations
  • Create social media content calendars and engage in social media on behalf of clients
  • Research trade publications, podcasts, niche blogs and special event opportunities
  • Track media hits and report results
  • Complete Internship Capstone Project

Administrative duties – 30%

  • Assist business manager in greeting guests, answering phones in a courteous and professional manner and carrying out general office operations as needed
  • Coordinate daily mailings

Events & Entertainment PR/Marketing

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current enrollment in/recent graduation from a college or university, grasp of basic public relations and social media with a strong interest in research, writing and editing. Must be passionate, driven and excited to learn all aspects of the industry with an emphasis on events and entertainment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional development – 75%

  • Assist staff in writing materials such as press releases, strategy documents, pitching plans, pitches, etc.
  • Observe/participate in client meetings, brainstorming sessions and conference calls
  • Research and compile media distribution lists
  • Develop and foster blogger relations
  • Assistance with market research and media outreach
  • Assistance with gathering of press materials from artist management/publicity personnel
  • Engage in social media on behalf of Bohlsen Group and clients
  • Participate in street promotion efforts

Administrative duties – 25%

  • Assist with street promotion organization
  • Assist reception with general office operations as needed

Interns report to the Event Services internship coordinator.

Grassroots Marketing Team (Street Team)

Deadline: This is a year round opportunity

Bohlsen Group has created the city’s most energetic grassroots marketing team (a street team, if you will) to complement our promotional efforts.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver printed promotional materials to predetermined list of permission based retail locations
  • Take photos of displayed materials, etc.
  • Document date and time of deliveries, and report to team leader
  • Help with e-marketing through social media
  • Identify new locations for promotional materials and new ways to spread the word about events


What you need:

You will need regular access to a computer/cell phone/camera, personal reliability and to be 18 years of age or older. We’ll work with your university for credit or work-study. (As needed)
